'Oh Hello Betty!'

Ok this is probably going to be one of those 'you should have been there' moments but i have to tell this story!!!

Sarah's been in contact with a lady called Betty, who is a fellow VW fanatic and is letting her bugmobile out to us for the time we're here.

Still being incredibly jetlagged and playing ridiculously silly games due to sleep deprivation we receive a phonecall.

Sarah answered this all excited...and goes 'who? OH HELLO BETTY HOW ARE YOU!?'

im thinking 'BETTY!? who the fuck is Betty! shes draining our precious NZ credit!'

Only to realise that sarahs talking to the hire company owner. OR IS SHE!?


Sarah puts on her phone voice/madamme whiplash voice and goes on about how she would never drink drive and is very responsible...blah blah.

She finishes the call and goes to me 'that was betty! she sounded excited to see us tomorrow'

i say...'excited? shes only lending us a car'

sarah goes 'well weve been emailing a few times about vw's i guess their just friendly in this neck of the woods...'


we get back to the hostel...only to receive yet another phonecall from Betty...she says she can get free nz calls and whats our hostel number because she could call us from there.

Sarah gives her the number and runs down to the hostel phone...only to run back up after 5 minutes saying 'nic, i don't understand...i think its becci? Can you come talk to her because i feel like a dick and iv been putting on a stupid phone voice and speaking to her about hirecars for the last 5 minutes!'

Betty was becci all along!

Sarah is a stupid bitch!
